Chance Project

Here are my Chance project instructions:

1.pick an album and be prepared to be able to track the time for each
individual song

2. pick 5 random numbers-must be within the amount of tracks/songs you
have on the album u picked

3. pick 5 random times in that you may find on your individual tracks (for example: 2minutes and 43seconds)

4. now take 5 random pictures of different objects, scenes, places or
people. the pics don’t have to be steller, just clear

5. go through your album based on steps #2 (this is going to be the
individual track/song number) and #3 (this is the specific time in the
song). when u get to the specific time in the song, write down the first
5 words u hear. If there are no words for the rest of the song, write
down the first 5 words you would use to describe the mood of the song.

6. in the order that you took your pics, match each pic with one of the 5 song lyrics, in the order each of their tracks appear on the album. if you can, post the pics with their lyrics next to them onto your blog.

The End

3 Predictions for When I’m 99

#1: 99 will be the new 59! or maybe 49! seriously, I do think that we are aging more slowly with our further understandings of nutrition and the advances made in prevention techniques for aging, so that by the year 2079 we will all be “younger” than we collectively seem today. I think that reaching 100 will be a piece of cake. well, a cake made from natural un-processed sweetners, is gluten-free, dairy/animal-free, includes raw green superfoods…
#2: this one is more wishful thinking, but entirely possible I think…communication between humans will be much more akin to telepathy. i’m thinking this will be due to a combo of further energy enlightenment and technological progress. think of the high speed communication network we have now with the internet, but way cooler, way faster and more personal.
#3: and the third and final prediction for now…ta da! there will be a further shift away from organized religions…in contrast to the inclusion of religion in today’s world, it will be a huge difference. I can imagine that simultaneously super-religions and/or more zealots will exist as living without religion/pre-set rules is very scary to some folks. so in 2079 I think our spiritual/energy landscape will generally look more open and flexible than today, with an absence of dogma and a focus on human responsibility, in addition to some scary cultish religious groups floating around. wait, that sounds familiar.

Napa Trip

So recently I was in Napa for a weekend visit. The last winery I visited turned out to be my favorite: the Hess Collection & Winery.  I hadn’t realized ahead of time that it houses a wonderful collection of art and even some conceptual work.   It includes an awesome exhibit by Lynn Hershman Leeson (I recall her interactive piece “Room of One’s Own” being mentioned in a class, so I was really excited to see it in person). Another piece I loved was Leopoldo Maler’s “Hommage” which is a burning typewriter that, according to the description, is meant to symbolize his deceased Argentine uncle and “the inflammatory content of his political essays,” of which is believed to be the reason for his killing. I highly recommend the trip to this gallery/winery and will definitely be taking another trip myself.
