Borderspace

Borderspace is an ongoing oral history and photographic project I began in late 2010. Combing two powerful mediums, I explore the stories of people who live in the spaces between cultural binaries that exist within gender, sexuality, race, body size and body image.

Borderspace was inspired by my own challenges in feeling both outside and inside many of those labels; I knew that I was hardly the only person with these challenges, so I sought out people who were willing to share their story. My goal with this project is to create more cultural awareness of borderspaces and to honor the lives of it’s inhabitants.
